History of Changes - JChem for Office
Sept 17th, 2024: JChem for Office 24.4.1 (Platinum.1)
Platinum.1 has been released based on the Frequent Release 24.3.0.
Changes are listed from our last LTS release (Osmium.3).
Marvin/JChem 24.4.1 used.
New Feature
- ChemDraw 23 can be selected as chemical editor in JChem for Office.
Improvement
- We have made some refactoring in our code base to improve its stability.
- JavaMarvin is renamed to Marvin as the Molecule Structure Renderer in Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Old ChemDraw versions (12-17) have been removed from the list of available chemical editors on the Options panel.
- External monitor user experience was further improved.
Bug Fixes
- System Access Violation Exception error appeared when importing from a database.
- System Access Violation Exception occurred for calculating Bemis-Murcko scaffolds.
- All possible columns in an Excel workbook were exported to file, not just the pre-selected columns.
- Wrong value was shown instead of a license exception if a required license was missing for a calculation.
- JChem for Excel File Converter did not run after installation.
- Non-standard characters added as Text in MarvinSketch were not displayed properly in Word
- ID Assignment field was unnecessarily displayed under the Marvin Editor at several places.
- One structure per page file import did not place structures and their corresponding properties on separate pages.
- “Structure record not found for the hash.” error message was displayed if structures were copied from one workbook to another and the primary source was closed afterwards.
- Fixed scale was set to 0 in Word, PowerPoint and Outlook after performing a database import with a query structure that was copied from an external chemical editor
- License Manager could only be opened once in Excel.
- Editor pane did not work in Excel.
Other Changes
- The JChem for Office installer now installs the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable Package. Previously the 2013 version was installed.
